New HDD, Norton re-install, need to restore from backup

I had to install a new ssd drive. Having done so, I had to re-install norton.
I have Norton backup sets on a second HDD.
Question is, how to I restore files from that backup, when the new Norton backup has not been set up yet.

So if my ssd drive crashes, there is no way I can restore photos, music, etc to the new ssd?

When you reinstall Norton 360…as you know…user needs to re-create backup sets…to their preference.

create a folder - restore to that folder - then move files around as needed

Norton Backup is not full system image backup.

Seems like a waste…in the case of a catastrophic crash, I have no way of getting back my financial files, music, photos, etc.
Which to me is the whole point of doing a backup.
I’ve been a Norton customer for many, many years, (almost DOS days) and this is going to be a deal breaker for me.

Users may restore their files from the cloud.

Been restoring to hard drives before Cloud was a thing.

Goodbye Norton!

Then you already knew Norton Backup is not full system image backup.
as per Norton support:
Users have ~30 days after subscription expiry to pull backups from cloud.

Restore pictures, music, or other important files from Norton backup sets

The second HDD that you say has your backup sets, is this an external drive? If so see this Norton Support article on how to restore using the ARestore.exe file. Find missing files or backup sets when restoring them from a local storage media with Norton

Hello @peterweb
Thanks for making me re-read (think differently about) the opening post.
