New Norton Install on MacBook Pro

Hi. Just installed the brand new Norton on my new MacBook Pro. Sonoma 14.1, 18GB… darn-dest thing… my date/time is right (auto set using time dot apple dot com), but then the installation changes the date/time to Oct 2023 (it’s Aug. 10 2024). But the date/time is still set the same. Can manually set date/time, but that’s a band-aid. Tried different time servers, same thing. It’s acting like the Norton network filter is intercepting as a proxy, and returning the wrong thing… but it getting weirder… when I uninstall Norton, problem continues. Found an Apple post about removing some plist file associated with the ntp, reboot and the date is right. Ok, weird. So I repeat the process — same result… starting with the correct date/time, the installation process results in the wrong date returned from my time server. The problem remains after uninstall, and I have to delete the plist file and reboot. It’s an Apple bug, but what I can’t understand is why the Norton installation triggers it. I’ve had to uninstall the suite from my Mac.

Anyone else run into this? Any known fix other than manual date/time?
