Unfortunately, not. While I can’t speak to Miracast itself, Lenovo Smart Connect, which also relies on ICMP, still cannot see or be seen by other devices when the Norton Smart Firewall is active, even after the Norton update to v25.2.9898 and the recent update to Lenovo Smart Connect v08.0.0.002.002.
Disabling the Norton firewall restores full functionality to Lenovo Smart Connect, and re-enabling the firewall makes Smart Connect disconnect and no longer see other devices.
I finally got mine working:
I have been using the LG WiDi system on my TV and also the Microsoft Wireless Display adapter (latest updates applied).
All seems good for the present time.
Hope this helps
Hello,
The fix from Norton seems to be working for me.
1.Norton update
2.Update display drivers / Graphics drivers
3.Reboot PC / Laptop.
Hope you find a fix soon with this new patch.
Marco
FINALLY, after several months of “messing” with this problem, this solution (Home → Settings → Troubleshooting → Reset to default → Yes, reset) made it work again; however, I also reset/configure my Miramax Anycast USB dongle that I used to connect to the extra monitor, and also recall that at some point a week or more ago I updated the BIOS on my Dell Laptop (I run the Dell Command Update utility regularly; nice way to stay updated). Again, not sure which one(s) of these steps made the difference exactly, but it might have been the reset. Just happy this is working again!
