Maybe it's been too long ago since Win 7 came out and I have waited too long so they dropped this from the FAQ's but has anyone been able to to move their Norton anti virus on XP to win 7 without doing the 1000 questions with the net bots they have on the "help line"? This should be a really simple thing and should be something you would think that you could find in the FAQ's but apparently not.
The issue is that this is a electronic version and no CD, I tried to use the wonderful "easy" transfer program that Microsoft provided which crashed 3 times trying to copy only the items that I really wanted to bring over and really does nothing other then cut and paste.
The Norton files are on the new drive now but don't work at all which I guess doesn't surprise me but I thought it might go and connect me to the Norton web site or something.
I'm really questioning if I want to renew again if what I have to say means nothing and they want to go back to reading from the script and where I heard of Norton in the first place.
In any case, I have a clean install of win 7 and I'm just want to get Norton running on the new system. I'm up for renewal but I will have to go with someone else if I can't manage to get hold of a real person and get a clean install of Norton as well.
