Newest version 24 of Norton 360

The newest version 24 of Norton 360 keeps telling me that it’s not compatible with windows 10 and I’m running Windows 11 Pro?

Hello Walkb. This is just one of the many bugs being worked out with the new 24.xx version. If you have access the old installation download from your account, you can remove version 24 then reinstall your previous version directly from your account. Personally I am blocking version 24 due to the many issues with it needing addressed. It was not ready for prime time and we don’t deserve to be BETA testing software in the first place. Hoping it matures, it DOES have promise and looks great. Just doesn’t work as it was intended. As always, your experience with it may vary from others.

Hello @Walkb
Please review your Task Scheduler tasks.
I’m curious, do you find “Remediation”?

“Remediation” as I recall has been around since before W10 as helper for users that upgrade their OS.
I’ve deleted the Task as I recall.
fwiw ~ here’s my Norton 360 v24 Tasks

I initially came to v24 on my dust collector machine and daily rider by over installing…norton_360_online_setup.exe…pulled from my Norton account.
fwiw ~ I’ve since clean installed v24.
v24 on daily rider and dust collector machine feels okay, my side. W10

:flushed:

Well, I had huge problems starting with version 22.24.x.x.
The new version 24.9.9452 (Build 24.9.9452.875) runs surprisingly well on my Windows 11 PC and I’m even thinking about reactivating the automatic renewal.

However, my wife received a message today for her Windows 10 PC that the new version is just around the corner. I’m curious to see how Win10 gets along with N360 V24

Hopeful greetings to all

Evidently the version 24.xx is compatible with Windows 10. I got this yesterday morning at boot up. I read this as my installation would be updated to the new version without any action on my part. Maybe I should just get the latest and be done with it before its pushed onto my daily user PC. IMA that I also have 2 Windows 11 laptops, a brand new SkyTech gaming rig not setup yet and two other Windows 10 laptops on site that will also get this at some point. Thats a lot of devices to possibly get gooned up. Just my 2 cents on the update.

How are you blocking v24? I had to fall back to previous version due to issues with gaming and it making COD MW3 totally unplayable. EDIT: I am on windows 10.

I have live updates disabled. With that in mind one of my Windows 11 machines got forced install of version 24.xx and its another mess on top of one last December. Too much to post here. I would disable LU to prevent the reinstallation of the upgrade. One downside if you manually run LU again most likely you will get 24.xx pushed again. Many are reporting that when they remove 24.xx and download again from their Norton accounts its giving them 24.xx vice the version prior. Your mileage may vary.

I solved my problem by deleting my old download of Norton360 that continued to try to install itself. Now the latest version of Norton 360 works perfectly.

Hello SA,

N360 - V24 was installed on my wife’s Windows 10 PC yesterday. But it didn’t really work. Maybe it was because the old version wasn’t uninstalled properly automatically.

So I ran the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool (only remove!) for each version and reinstalled the new version. Now it seems to be running smoothly
