So for Christmas yesterday we bought our two boys copies of Minecraft for their laptops. Both systems run Norton Family Safety but that's where the similarities end. One of the laptops is a year old and runs Windows 8.1 and the other is older running Windows 7. After struggling through solutions found on Google for many hours yesterday nothing was working. This afternoon I attempted to run the game on my admin account, not monitored by NFS, and low and behold everything worked perfectly.
I returned to the monitored account and disabled NFS and the game also worked perfectly. I looked at the logs for both boys and nothing was flagged and everything appeared to go through. Reading through previous threads it appears as though it may be an issue with Java, both systems are running the latest version (Java 8 Update 25 build 1.8.0_25-b18).
I really don't want to take off the security but I want the boys to be able to enjoy their game, is there anything I can allow within the settings that will prevent this from being blocked?
