Hi all - I have been having a random error that occurs occasionally (once every 10 times or so) when I run incremental backups. This happens just as NG is completing the backup. After this I get the dreaded "reconciling volume" message when starting the incremental backup again.
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup Home Disk Volume (C:\). Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. POSTCONDITION failed, CopyLegacyBootManager::GetDestinationRegion: .\CopyLegacyBootManager.cpp(190): pRegion. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071)
System:
NG 15 SP1
Win 7 x64
Dual boot C: and D:
E: is my sample file drive that does not get backed up.
I run NG 15 under both OS installs to back up each individual drive (boot under C: and backup C:, etc.) and get this error on both systems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated…

John,
You don't need to do that, if you install Ghost on say D: drive you can then run a backup of both drives by highlighting C and D when running a "Define New" and complete the rest of the settings.
I would then be very supprised if you get an error using that method.
I run a multi boot machine containing 4 O/Ss and by highlighting all 4 drives I have no problems verifying and recovery.
Edit, Pics show G12 but also works ok with G15, recovery is simple, select recovery point and date all drives are highlighted and bingo full recovery of all drives, simple.

I can't see the pictures yet Deric, but have you read the other thread in the link above?
I was able to confirm the problem on a multiboot. After booting into the second OS, you could no longer do an incremental from the first operating system.
Full images would work, but the drive bitmap that the incremental uses to keep track of the changes appears to become broken after booting into the second OS.
It's post #13 where I setup a system the same way John's was with both operating systems being the C drive when being used and both becoming D when not being used. (drive letters swap).
The last post I tried setting up a system the way you and I have them, each systems drive letter never changes.
In both configurations I could not do incrementals of the other operating system partition. It would work fine until I booted into the second OS and did anything significant. Then back in the other OS that had Ghost installed I could not do another incremental.
The only difference I can think of is that I was doing seperate incrementals of the OS partitions.
I think you do incrementals of multiple partitions at the same time? You have one schedule that does them all at once?
There is a lorra lorra reading to do there and it will take a while for me to digest it but I think I get the drift.
What I have done is installed G12 on Win7(2) F: and G15 on Win7(1) E: and run incrementals with both G12 and G15 my first pic shows the folders I keep them in.
I have never had a problem with that setup, I always highlight all 4 drives to enable a backup (G12 and G15) unfortunately I deleted the G15 backups because I was running out of space on my 500 gig test backup drive.
The problem does take me back a month or two though and I can remember it affecting multi boot with, in my case 4 physical drives and because of that I went for one single drive with 4 partitions so that G15 would work ok.
I believe that I have fixed this. I updated the firmware on my Western Digital My Book Essintial external drive and have not had the error since. The release notes stated that there were times that the drive would incorrectly report ECC errors.
