That is what a Symantec tech told me. He said that I should take NIS 09 back to the store and get NIS 08. I was having trouble with two computer connecting with each other. I uninstalled NIS 09 from each and the problem went away. I tried to reinstall NIS 09 on one of the computers and got a message saying something like “Installation did not finish. A cleanup was performed…restart computer and try install again”. I ran NRT, restarted computer, and tried to install, same message. I ran NRT a second time, restarted computer, and tried to install, same message. Had a chat session with a tech. He ran NRT a third time, deleted some Symantec and Norton folders, and ran install; same message. We got disconnected, so I called Symantec. I explained the situation to the tech and he asked if I was running WinXP SP3. I said yes, and he said that NIS 09 was incompatible with WinXp SP3, and that I should get NIS 08 instead. I looked on the Symantec site and can’t find anything about this. Any ideas?
