I don’t believe SystemWorks 02 nor 03 will work side by side with NIS 08

However, it works fine with NSW2008. I know because I have it installed. I installed NIS2008 first. With NSW2008P, I opened the disk and installed Norton Save and Restore. Then I went to the folder contain Utilities and installed (WinDoc, DiskDoc, etc from that folder). I only wish that the Norton Protection Center would let Ghost and Utilities to integrate with NIS. You need to open separate icons to run a backup, another icon to run WinDoc, and NPC to see NIS.....
I would suggest trying it but from the folder containing Utilties not the autorun. AND, of course, provided I had a good back up image in case it doesn't work and gets you in trouble
Thank you both for the responses about Norton System Works. I'll keep them in mind until I can get a clearer response to my original question about my old Norton Utiities 2002:
"Is there any technical, or other, reason that I shouldn't want to install my Norton Utilities?"

Are WinDoctor, System Doctor and Scan Disk in the latest versions of SystemWorks any different from the 2002/2003 Norton Utilities versions of those programs?
I'm sure that Norton Staff will give you some guidelines on that but bear in mind that VISTA has come along since then (I don't think you said what version of WIndows you are using). VISTA does make some fundemental changes in the file system (that may upset disk utilities -- Partition Magic, for example) so I would hesitate to use earlier versions of utilities. I don't find anything wrong with the scandsk/chkdsk in Windows itself and with NTFS file system that is not only robust but amazes me how well it does repair if something goes wrong.
As for the other utilities, I tend to believe that the less one tries to second guess Windows the better, especially by using utilities that dig into the registry, an area that may even confuse Microsoft from time to time? <g>
Just my POV ......
Thanks huwynger. Actually, I’m running Windows XP Service Pack 3. That’s the way I ordered my brand new computer. No Vista for me until the folks in Redmond do a better job.

Then you owe it a nice new copy of the 2008 versions ..... <g> Check the weekend flyers for good rebates especially for upgraders.
http://www.salescircular.com/ is a good place to check on Sundays!
Besides Uncle Microsoft won't let you run XP for ever 8:(
Ahhhh… but there will be no nagging subscription messages with NU 2002.
Cheapskate! <gdr>
