NIS 2009 and ccSvcHst.exe

I am new to the forum and am not the most computer savvy person, but I've done some research on the issue of ccSvcHst.exe eating up CPU.  It looks like the general recommendation is to do an uninstall and then reinstall NIS 2009.  Is that right?

Also:  I see that there is a Norton Removal Tool that will uninstall all Norton 2003 and later products.  My computer came with a Norton 2002 product on it.  I later updated to a later Norton product (around 2006 or 2007) and then, finally, to NIS 2009.  Is there a chance that whatever is causing this ccSvcHst.exe problem eating up my CPU percentage will not be cured because the removal tool doesn't handle the original 2002 product on this machine?

Thanks.
