Hi,
I'm pretty new to using Norton Internet Security 2009 (or any version really) in command line mode. So far i haven't been able to find any helpful documentation to assist with it aside from the most basic commands. What i'm trying to do is call on Norton to scan a file automatically and return a specific value if it finds a virus, no attempts to repair the file or remove the virus. What that value is doesn't matter as long as it is a number and the same for any detections.
The command i have so far is:
"c:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Engine\16.5.0.135\Navw32.exe" path-to\file.extension /automation
This partly does what i need, it is scanning the file with no more input needed, however it is attempting to repair the file and reporting success (even though it isn't successful as the test virus (eicar) remains there).
If anyone could help i would be very appreciative!
Cheers!
Jason
