WinXP SP3 computer with at&t dsl connection.
I received a notice of an update to NIS 2009 which I agreed to by clicking the correct box; it was automatically downloaded, installed and the computer restarted; the NIS 2008 was removed automatically. This was about 2 weeks ago. Since then my computer has been responding very, very, very slowly to any thing I want to do. Windows Explorer, Wordpad, Works, Word, email management, anything that would require me to press a key or click a 'button'. The programs come up (not as quickly as pre-2009) but the response time is terrible. I don't even get the hourglass to show that 'something' is happening so I invariably click a 'button' more than once.
I computer has been scanned (by Norton), disk cleanup, defrag, everything I have done in the past with the initial NIS2008 installation I have repeated with this update but nothing seems to be working.
NIS2009 doesn't show up in my Control Panel like it did for NIS2008 so there is nothing there for me to 'tweak'.
Is there some setting in the program that I can adjust to get this computer working properly?
I don't want to uninstall NIS2009 since I don't have NIS2008 to fall back on.
