NIS 2009 Windows Vista Email Scanning not working

Today after a windows update NIS 2009 email scanning stopped working. I used the default Fix This button in NIS 2009 and rebooted several times with the same results that email in and out bound scanning was not working. I then went into email scanning configuration and manually turned it on and checked the settings so that the setting were on. After several repeats and reboots the problem still remains.  I have 270 days of subscription support lift so that can’t be the problem. Any one have any ideas?
