I just upgraded from NIS2009 to NIS2010 on a Windows XP (SP2) using Outlook 2000. (I know it is old - but all worked fine with NIS 2009.)
Since the upgrade in versions, Antispam has not worked. I did two separate online chats with tech support and finally was told that email addresses that I had previously trained NIS2009 to call SPAM, would have to be retrained in the new version. I was told that that list was not carried forward after they connected to my PC twice, the first time uninstalling/reinstalling and the second time reviewing the configuration and "showing me" how to add email addresses to the blocked list. While I don't recall having to retrain in previous upgrades I reluctantly began the process of retraining.
However, ever since the second chat, I am unable to train Antispam. I can usually use the THIS IS SPAM button for one email, but when I choose a second I get an error message "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." When I look at the detailed tech message it states the error signature is:
AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.2416 ModName: msvcr90.dll
ModVer: 9.0.30729.4148 Offset: 0003b9f0
I've checked and have the latest update of NIS2010. I initially installed it 1/18, and was able to designate email as spam until Friday 1/22. Since 1/22 I am not able to use the THIS IS SPAM button without getting that error message which causes Outlook to crash.
Does anyone have any suggestions? My Inbox is filling up with lots of spam.
