I am a long time user of NIS (going back to NIS 2002) and currently have six PCs at home running NIS 2010/2009 so I became very dissapointed today when I installed an update of the RealityXP gauges for Microsft Flight Simulator X and NIS2010 started quarantining the gauge files based on an heuristic (what basically means, I believe," we have never seen this file at Norton and itis trying to access the internet") scan.
No matter how many times I told NIS to restore the files, it re-quarantined them inmediately without giving me the option of excluding them from further scans (what is what it did in the past in similar cases), so it made Flight Simulator unusable.
I checked the RealityXP manufacturers forum and this is a known problem with NIS and no, the files are not virus-infected, but Norton is not doing anything about it.
Can I do something or shall I just dump Norton and get something better?.
Regards.
