Hi all, just wondering if I need to use the Optimize function in NIS 2011, if Windows 7 automatically defrags my system, anyway ?
Any thoughts ? Is it worth doing, or should I just leave Windows to it's own devices ? Thanks F4E

No, you don't need to run the optimizer if you use the Windows defragmenter on a schedule or if you use a third-party defragmenter. The optimizer just uses the Windows defragmenter anyway.
And if your system disk is an SSD, you shouldn't run a defragmenter at all on it.
Bombastus, thanks for your reply. Windows is set to defrag on schedule, as part of the settings, so I've disabled the Idle time Optimize function, in NIS 2011. Rgds F4E
