NIS 2011 e-mail scanning and WLM

I don't see NIS 2011 scanning my e-mail and Norton Anti Spam in Windows Live Mail. Is NIS disabled? What can I do to get NIS e-mail scanning back?

As can be seen here, Norton's Antispam will not work in Windows Live Mail. You can check in the New Ideas part of the Forum to see if hat has already been suggested or you can open up a new thread in the New Ideas Forum and suggest it. I think there might be already a suggestion for that. If there is, then you can give it a kudos and make a post there also. Thanks.

Hi The_Hulk,

 

Although WIndows Live Mail is not supported for AntiSpam, Norton still flags suspected spam with the [Norton AntiSpam] tag.  You can manually create a Norton AntiSpam folder or use the Junk folder,  and create a message rule in WLM to move any messages with that tag to the specified folder.

 

Email Scanning in inderpendent of the client, so as long as you are using standard ports (110, incoming, 25, outgoing) your messages will be scanned for viruses.  A progress indicator should appear, unless you have it disabled, for outbound scans.  There is no longer an inbound scan progress indicator, however.
