I've recently become seriously annoyed at the background tasks NIS 2011 is performing. This is resulting in excessive disk activity which can last up to six hours (and I had to interrupt that to get it to stop). I don't think this has anything to do with idle scans as the logs indicate they only take a few minutes. Also, my full system scans only take three hours, so I really want to know what NIS is doing to my system and if there's any way I can prevent it from happening again.
The constant disk activity (and therefore, noise) can be heard downstairs and is actually problematic when it comes to sleep.
Otherwise, I like this product. But it's getting to the point where I'm thinking about uninstalling due to the constant noise.
Suggestions/insights would be greatly appreciated.
