NIS 2012 Do not have permission to access folder: No startup

Yesterday, I rebooted my computer and the computer preformed a 'Check disk' scan and scanned my drives. When my computer completed the scan I logged in as usual and Norton was not on.

 

I have have Norton Internet Security 2012 installed for a week now (recently upgrading from 09). I have had no problems as of yesterday and it has been running great.

 

Since Norton was not on I tried just running Norton Internet Security through the 'Start' menu. I would not allow me to do it this way, access denied. So I went into program files and attempted to go to the Norton folder. Opening this folder resulted in

 

"You don't currently have permission to access this folder"

 

Hitting continue as an administrator resulted in

 

"You have been denied permission to access this folder"

 

It informed me in order to gain access, to use the security tab, and I found information through Microsoft on how to re-gain control of a folder. Unfortunately, whatever I do it is still set as 'Unable to display current owner" in Advanced Security Settings.

 

Any information on this issue, and any help referring to it would be highly appreciated.
