NIS 2012 - Scan My Facebook Wall - Hung Up

I recently installed NIS 2012 and the next day tried the "Scan My Facebook Wall" option.

It brought up my Facebook page in a very weird format -- definitely *not* the standard way.  Things are just in a long list down the left-hand-side of the page.  And, there are these little "processing' symbols on each item of the list that just go on-and-on-and-on.  Been like that for hours.

Norton Safe Web never asked for permission to access my Wall or anything like that (which it's supposed to do, according to the Help info in NIS). Can't stop the scan either.

Essentially I don't have any access to my Facebook page.

What can I do?

Appreciate any help.

Tks Dick.  Not so much that NIS kept running -- but, it was in some kind of weird loop with the "Scan My Facebook Wall" command.  Wouldn't complete -- nor ask for permission to access my FB data, etc

And Yes, I did the x-out of NIS with Task Mgr, etc. Also a jillion more things, including a half-dozen System Restores. (Some of which worked, others failed. Curious.) No help on any of this.

But, it appears that the problem is solved.  Finally got my Firefox (FF) browser reinstalled (after all kinds of problems -- Add/Remove would *not* uninstall it,etc).  That worked.

Somehow it seems that the NIS "Scan My Wall"-thing may have corrupted FF.  But, more likely it was Norton Utilities (NU) 15.0.  I installed it a few days ago and have been "optimizing" my system with Registry cleans, HDD cleans/defrags,etc.  Think that probably screwed up some FF settings and the reinstall fixed it.

Anyway, appreciate your help.  I'll mark this SOLVED.

Robby,

Please be careful doing anything with the registry. It can get very 'testy' when you tamper with it.

Stay well and surf safe

Yes, I'm aware.  Yet thought that surely ("stop calling me Shirley") NU could do it right.  Apparently not.  I've had trouble with that s/w before (older versions), though like the concept.  Was hoping the newest version 15.0 would do OK.  Nope.

More problems, still.  Going to post to "Other Norton Products" Forum and see if they can figure it out.

Tks for your help.
