Using NIS 2012 on Win XP, all current updates to both. I recently upgraded from NIS 2011 (doing an uninstall and NRT). Now I'm experiencing a problem with Download Intelligence, that was not cured by an additional uninstall/NRT/ reinstall of 2012.. Here are the settings I am using in that category:
Download Intelligence--ON
Download Insight Notifications--ON
Show Report on Launch of Files--ALWAYS
Alert on Poor Stability--ON
On another screen, I also have "Insight Protection" turned ON.
I'm using Firefox 7, which I plan to update soon, although that shouldn't make a difference-- NIS 2012 should work with Firefox 7, too. In any case, when I download an executable file, NIS provides a little popup in the lower right corner that tells me the "file was safe" (or words to that effect), and when I click on "Details" I get the full report about file version--where downloaded from; how many users in the Norton Community have used it; and that it is trusted, etc. So that part of Download Intelligence--the download notification and report---is working.
However, the other part (show report on launch of files) is not working, even though I have it set to ALWAYS. When I click to execute the file, I only get the standard Windows popup asking me if I want to run it. I no longer get the Norton reputation report that I used to get with NIS 2011. So this additional barrier/safety net before launch of the file is not present. I had gotten used to seeing it while using NIS 2011, so I'm confused as to why it is not showing up anymore. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
