When will it be out instead of having to download it and upgrade manually?
Hi FGW,
I got mine by doing a New Version Check. It installed automatically after a couple mouse clicks.
Regards,
I'd also appreciate if Norton v20 products would automatically update to the new version... Hope Symantec has some plans about that internal LiveUpdate :)

There is a setting in the v20 products,(and earlier) for Automatic Download of New Version. By default this is set to on.
It will probably not download this on the first day or so of the release. This would be to try to relieve congestion on the download servers.
I received mine the same way as Ballistic with no problems. The new version runs good.
Windows 7 sp1 64 bit.
Same here. Got mine via the Check for New Version in the GUI. It's now on both my Windows 7 machines, and working well, so far.
Not mad on the new Norton Toolbar set up, but that's about all....
I went ahead and updated my 2 machines with check for update. Windows 7/8 64 bit and on both. The process was extremely easy and painless. This version is already better then 2013. 2013 was a complete mess at launch and it took until the end. With the last update. To get it to the high quality it should have been at on day 1. Looks like Symantec got it together this time around. About time.
Hi everyone,
Any news on this topic? I'm really interest in that 'cause although updating went on fine on all my machines, I've helped many friends configure their PCs and secure them with Norton - will they receive the new V21 receive via an automatic live update? :)
Thanks in andvance :)
Alister, if your friends have a current subscription and they have Automatic Download of New Version set to on in Settings / Computer / Updates in the Norton GUI, then they should get the new version automatically. Some of us have it set to off, in case a new version has problems, but in most cases, the new version 21.0.1.3 is working well. There has certainly been plenty of kudos for it, in the community.
Sorry to horn in, but since you folks have updated. I did as well, and ran into a minor problem. If I click on support (upper right, main screen) it crashes. Otherwise seems fine. Anyone else seeing this?

Have you restarted your computer? This can resolve all kinds of ills with a Windows sysem.
Also, be sure you have run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

It is a bad idea to use Live Update to update to a new release since it probably has a lot of changes and maybe some bugs. The system we have now gives the customer the choice when to upgrade to the new version using the New Version Check or the Automatic Download of New Version feature. I want control of my system and not be forced through Live Update to move to the new version.

Norton has release a new BETA (21.0.1 5) as they are continuing testing for Windows 8.1. One quote concerns me.
Please note that not all reported issues have been corrected with this build. If you wish to let us know that the issue still occurs, please update the existing thread (do not start a new thread). We will have all issues resolved when we release the final version.
So they released 21.0.1.3 expecting a few bugs. I am testing it on Windows 8.1 but won't be using it on my main systems yet.

That is why many have chosen to turn this feature OFF. Those that have found that feature probably think like you and I, that the user should have the option of choosing when to make the move.
Actually there has been a recent official announcement to our topic:
community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Background-update-NIS-amp-NAV-20-x-to-21-1/td-p/1043099
So thanks a lot to Symantec for the work done here! :)
