NIS 5 download will not install on OSX 10.5.8

I purchased and downloaded from Norton site the NIS 5 for Mac last night. After the download finished, nothing happened.

I read the info, clicked on Norton Internet Security Installer, clicked on "Open", and still nothing happened. What should I do.

I have never installed any internet security on my 2009 Macbook. I have now read several posts that say Norton doesn't work with Safari.  Is that true? Should I ask for a refund? Thanks for any help.

The Norton Internet Security 5 disk image only includes the product that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 and later. The e-commerce Web site where you purchased the product hsould have sent you a link to get the older product, but it looks like it's broken at the moment.

Go to

http://us.norton.com/digital/promo

And click on Norton Internet Security for Mac to download the product, which will include the Norton Internet Security 4 product that supports 10.5.8.

Thanks Ryan,

that download worked and everything seems to be working alright now.

Ryan,

There are several places on the synmantec product renewal website that say NIS 5 is compatible with 10.4.X and later versions of MAC OS X.  I tried to discuss/confirm with the Chat line but got NO response at all.  Symantac is capable of hounding me every 5 minutes with a pop-up reminder to renew my subscription but they can't seem to fix their own problems in a timely manner.

Hi,

Could you point out where it says that?

Thanks
