Running Windows 8 Pro. Norton Internet Security (latest). Ursoft Your Uninstaller (latest).
I recently downloaded Ursoft Your Uninstaller (Latest Version 7.4) from their home site here.
http://www.ursoftware.com/download.php
Upon Downloading the software Norton I.S. (Latest Win 8 Version) told me there was a Risk present in the Software named "WS.Reputation.1". Because my Computer has a completely clean installation of the Windows 8 Pro Operating System with all the drives completely formatted I assumed it must be some kind of misappraisal or false positive. So I installed the Software anyway.
However running a Full System Scan later I note the software (Norton Internet Security Latest Version) has also in addition automatically removed a Trojan called Suspicious Cloud 2 from the program.
I've contacted UrSoft to appraise them but am fully expecting Ursoft to say that their Software is O.K. etc. I've also contacted Norton Technical Support in order to ascertain whether these detections are false positives, as I fully expect Ursoft to say.
However, I thought I would also raise the issue here in case anyone else experiences the same difficulty, as it might be of genuine assistance once the respective parties get to the bottom of the problem. Then we will all know. However, as of now these questions remain.
1. If the Software is OK as may be claimed why is Norton I.S. defining a clearly known Named Trojan?
2. As the Antivirus Software has now automatically removed "WS.Reputation.1" & "Suspicious Cloud 2" If they are not Trojans or Viruses what component has actually been removed from the Software? Presumably whatever the component was, it was included in the Download because it is required for the Software to work correctly and do its Job, so how can it do without it?
3. What do I do now?
Discard Your Uninstaller as Infected and Faulty?
Use the WS.Reputation.1 & Suspicious Cloud 2 component removed Software, but can and will it still work properly?
Reinstall the Trojan Infected Download as safe?
It is surely not beyond the Wit and Wisdom of experienced Software Designers and Programmers from such well known Companies as Ursoft and Norton to avoid, overcome and fully resolve such conflicts and I look forward to receiving Clear Advice as to how to deal with what is now on my Computer.
I'll let you know what they say.
