I'm using Norton Internet Securitu for almost 2 years and, from time to time I have this (very annoying) problem: the ccsvchst.exe starts to write huge amounts of data to HDD with no reason. For example, today in one hour it wrote 20Giga!!!! Why an anti-virus software writes so much data to HDD?!?!?
Even more, during this time, the computer completly frezes from time to time for 4-8 seconds (even when typing text) so it's almost impossible to use it. After a while, everything will go back to normal.
Do you have any idea how can I fix this problem? Or, if it is a bug, where I can send a report?

Check under the Performance link at the top of the main NIS screen. Look for a light blue vertical bar on the top graph that would indicate the disk has been optimized.
I have WindowsXP Professional SP3 and the latests NIS version (20.1.0.24).
I've defragmented the HDDs but it didn't worked. However, I've removed the NIS completly and I have installed the program again and so far it worked perfectly. Even the big delays in NIS interface are gone and now, the aplication works as it should.
