NIS.exe random high cpu useage

I am getting NIS.exe using 100% cpu on one of my cores very randomly. I checked and no updates or quick scans were being done when NIS.exe was using 100% cpu on one of the cores. What could it be doing and it randomly does it but i did notice mostly when playing video files?
