NIS Firewall issues with Polar Personal Trainer Websync?

I have a polar watch and part of the program have installed WebSync data transfer so that I can download my training.   I had no problem with the WebSync Software for a year until January 5, 2013.  Since then, I get an error message that the SSL handshake failed when trying to synchronize the watch.

 I've been working with Polar support and their last question was: could you check that the firewall is not blocking the connection to polarpersonaltrainer.com?  Also it's good to check the antivirus software that is it not blocking the data transfer.

I went into program mgmt, and made sure that Norton "allowed" the two Polar programs on my computer.  Is there anything I might be missing from the Norton side?
