I will apologize in advance for the length of this post, but I feel like I need to start from the beginning. Two days ago I attempted to renew my subscription of NIS on my Desktop. I clicked renew on the bottom of my Norton page that showed that I had 41 days left on my old subscription. I entered the product key of my new subscription as instructed. I was able to download the product and followed all instructions to the letter. After all was done my Norton page showed 456 days left, and since this was a 15 month subscription, my calculations showed that my 41 days had not been added to the new subscription. I went on the chat line to see if I could get this corrected. After explaining my situation to the rep. she told me she would be glad to add the 41 days to my current subscription. After a short period of time she told me the she had added the days and asked if there were any other concerns I had. I mentioned that I also had an Acer 1 netbook with the same subscription and would like to avoid going on chat again to resolve this issue with the netbook. She told me she had consolidated both subscriptions into a new subscription with a new product key and that all I would have to do is to use the new product key and all would be well. I thanked her and signed off of the chat. As instructed by the rep. I restarted my PC to allow the changes to be put in place. What I found out was that nothing had changed and the 41 days had not been added. I rebooted again with the same result. I resolved to re-attack the problem the next day. When I logged on to my Desktop the next day lo and behold my 41 days had been added on. That same evening I decided to renew the subscription on my netbook. I will try to describe everything that happened during this procedure the best way I know how, but it may not be coherent and I apologize in advance for that. I followed the same procedure I had done with my Desktop but I kept getting error messages from Norton telling me that the downloaded software could not be installed. I had used the product key that I copied and pasted from my desktop so I thought everything would work. When I checked the product key, it turns out that it is exactly the same one I used to activate the new subscription on my Desktop. I reasoned that I probably should go back on chat to see if they could help me with this train wreck, but since my netbook is maddeningly slow, I would log on to my desktop the next morning and go to the Norton Forum for help, Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
