In addition to Messias's request, would also provide your operating system and service pack?

Thanks.

Have you tried running LiveUpdate manually?

Also, do you get any Error Messages?  If so, what are these?

You can turn off Automatic LiveUpdate, but will need to know what N.I.S. you are using so I can give you instrustions related to that Product.  :)

Open your NAV and select “Help & Support”. Then, click “Start Live Session”. This will enable Auto Fix which will perform checksum with your copy of NIS and the one on the Syamantec server. It will then fix any program or registry errors. Then, perform a manual Live Update to retrieve current def and program update. If that still doesn’t work, restart Windows in Safe Mode and perform a System Restore to a restore point that was on a day your PC was working. Usually, AutoFix will repair your problem as you probably just have a corrupted Live Update.

Hi hscarp,

It seems like a lot of people are trying to help, but unfortunately we have not received any details yet as to which Norton Product, what operating system, etc.

As soon as you can give us that info, we will all be able to pinpoint the issue more effectively.

Thanks.

I agree.

This user should feel special as having four people in a seven-Post-long Thread - as of Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - is like gold dust.  L.o.l.!  ;)

I have been through the support- live chat routine at least 6 times. Always the person wants to do the same things that have already been done without working. I am so frustrated with norton support I doubt I will buy another norton product. My live update will not update and every time I open my screen it wants to try to run live update. I think it is slowing my computer and am wondering what I can do besides changing to a different product. I have uninstalled , reinstalled , updated and am unable to solve this issue.

Hi hscarp

Can you let us know what version of NIS you're currently running?
