NIS Product Maintenance "Failed to Update"

I've read other posts on this and this problem has not be resolved with me.

 

A month ago, I noticed the greyed out Product Maintenance in the Task section showed "Failed to Complete". It stayed that way for several days and numerous attempts by the program to complete the task. Tech worked for over an hour by remote trying to fix it. Finally it was escalated to a higher tech and after another 30 minutes or so, all he did was to uninstall and reinstall NIS. That seemed to fix the problem.

 

Now, 30 days later, it's doing it again. I've run LiveUpdate multiple times. Restarted the computer, reran LiveUpdate. Nothing is helping. Short of doing the reinstall again, does anyone have any idea what's going on??? I really don't want to have to do this uninstall and reinstall every month. Surely someone at Norton must know a fix.
