NIS protection question

Ok there was a question earlier regarding iPhone infection. But I have a different slant on the issue.
If for some reason one used their iPhone to access a website and then later one found out that website distributed malware. Say that malware “hitched a ride” on the iPhone. If one connected the iPhone to their PC, would NIS protect the PC from infection once the iPhone connected to the PC? I’m thinking that the iPhone would in essence connect to the PC like a flash drive, so would the PC be protected from the malware on the iPhone?
