NIS Quick Scan hangs on scan "Checking for:SecurityRisk.URLRedir"

My Norton Internet Security Quick Scan was hanging on "Checking for:SecurityRisk.URLRedir".

Then I tried to get NPE (Norton Power Eraser) to run and hopefully fix that problem, but NPE would not run.

Instead of persevering with NPE, I then tried NIS Full Scan and it worked just fine and left me with a threat-free system.

Do you use a Hosts File?  If there are a large number of entries in the Hosts File, such as would happen if you use one provided by MVPS, hpHosts or even Spybot Search & Destroy, the SecurityRisk.URL.Redir scan can take several minutes, and so appear to hang.
