NIS recently installed and Quicken program problem

The system is a Windows 7 64 bit. Norton Internet Security was installed on the system in the past 48 hours. Prior to installation the program Quicken (online banking connected checkbook reference) was working flawlessly. Since the NIS was installed Quicken has failed to reconnect to bank sites. NIS has been uninstalled and reinstalled as a quick fix. Quicken's failure to reconnect continued to persist. Search engines and Help fail to give a layman's guideline for setting up what may be only a simple exception in NIS has yet to be found. 

Any assistance on this matter would be appreciated since this is not something that I normally handle.
