NIS Renewal

I recently renewed my NIS 2010 subscription, and just thought I should let everyone know about an oddity in the renewal process.

Navigating to the renewal section of the online store from symantec.com gave me the option to renew my NIS subscription for one year at $49.99.

Clicking through the renew link in the NIS program gave me the option to renew my NIS subscription for one year at $59.99.

Logging in to my Norton Account and then navigating to the online store's renewal section changed the original price to $59.99.

Also, going back now, I see a $49.99 price for a 3-PC NIS 2010 upgrade on the main renewal page, but if you do the "select your product and version" thing, the one PC renewal price it shows is $59.99.

I can't think of any good reason for a price difference.  Luckily, since I added the $49.99 renewal to my cart, I was able to get that price without having to sign out and clear my cookies.

Is Symantec just trying to scam all the "set it and forget it" users who just click on what Norton tells them to?  Is there an even lower price hidden somewhere on the site?  Or is it simply a mistake?
