A cautionary tale.
Despite my moans here from time to time, I've just renewed my NIS subscription for another 12 months. It cost £20 [$30 say].
In addition to the product spec, the main attraction for me is here, this Forum. If ever I have a problem - and it happens far too much at the moment!! - there are always great folks here who will sort it out for me. Never looking down on a dumb guy - as happens in some forums - and always given in plain, simple-to-understand English. Never any teccie-talk but simple step-by-step walkthroughs if it is a complicated matter.
And yes, of course the advice given always provides the solution.
A friend of mine was thinking of moving away from NIS - he uses Chrome & Firefox mainly - but after we spoke, he decided to stay. Being a typical Yorkshireman - they're very canny when it comes to spending money - he was so pleased to later tell me that he'd found a deal which cost him £3 [$4.50 say].
After checking on e-Bay, I was able to tell him it was only for six months and only for 1 PC! His wife and sons aren't happy so he's having to fork out again.
The sources of the cheap deals are mainly from Australia, Hong Kong & Singapore, with Italy there too. I'm sure they're all legit but 'let the buyer beware' - and don't forget to read the label!
