NIS symEFA causes Windows XP chkdsk to run after every boot or reboot

After each reboot or boot XP's (PRO with SP3) chkdsk runs before I can login.

A folder named FOUND.0XX is created and part of the contents of the FILE0000.CHK reads as follows:

1_UpTime*SymEFAData store up-timeSymEFA* #_VolInfo*SymEFAVolume InfoSymEFA, '_CreTime

SymEFACreation TimeSymEFA1

SymEFALast Modified TimeSymEFA¤‰ñSQLite

The contents of the file is the same after each reboot.

Performed a "Clean Install" of XP, rebooted several times, no problems

Installed NIS 2009 and ran Live Update and the problem is back, so it NIS releated.
