Can someone both explain and propose a solution for the following as necessary....
I have recently installed NIS 2011 to replace McAfee on my old Dell Dimension 9100 running Windows XP SP3. The NIS icon in my Sys Tray usually has the reassuring green, "secure" token. However, it often shows the grey, "disabled" token, which surely implies that the or a key feature of my protection is not functioning, having been disabled. I have tried to find a means by which to re-enable but failed. Referring to Windows Task Manager, the Norton Utilities application is running but not Norton Internet Security. If I launch the NIS window, everything is reported to be running as expected. Rebooting does not clear the issue necessarily. Why would I not be concerned? What should I do?
