I suppose you’ve saved your key incorrectly. There should be something missing. Do you have a Norton Account ? You can easily retrieve your key from your account.
I have printed out the Symantec text file which was saved at the time of the original purchase and used that code, and checked that I have entered it correctly several times. The prompt beeps at me if I try and enter any more characters, but I am unable to click on the Next button.
I thought the codes were 25 characters, but I could be wrong. Do not inter the dashes of course. The Norton account is the easiest way to get the codes back and to enter them in the program. I think that they may be stored in the account that you used when you bought the package. It may have automatically saved them for you.
As you hve been asked: Did you create a Norton Account when you first installed? If so when the trial installation asks for the KEY tell it you want to use an existing Key and it should go and get it from your Norton Account.
If you did not or continue to have trouble, the best way is to contact Customer Support. Here is a quote from a Norton Staffer here on how to do this:

They can review your account information, and access your system to ensure that the subscription is for the correct duration.
I have sorted the problem out - I did have a Norton account, and when I looked at the key stored there, it was different to the key in the file held on disk. When I entered the code from the Norton account, it was accepted.
Thank you all for your help!
