Two days ago, Norton Internet Security updated itself to version 22.5.0.124 on my Windows XP SP3 machine. Now iTunes version 10.7 won't recognize my 7th Gen iPod nano. I knew that it was Norton because it crashed as soon as I connected the iPod. After I rebooted the NIS Toolbar Icon had changed, and iTunes wouldn't recognize the iPod. A few points: I've given myself some time to cool off and also searched the Norton Forums before making this post. Since I'm using iTunes 10.7 and the only thing which changed was update to version 22.5.0.124 of Norton Internet Security, it IS a problem with Norton. This problem was previously reported and acknowledged by a Norton Community Admin on 03-Mar-2015 (Re: Norton Security and iTunes, https://community.norton.com/en/comment/6252191#comment-6252191), so why was a buggy product sent to my Windows XP machine? I held Norton's security products in high regard until now. Hopefully I can revert to the previous version until my subscription runs out, but I'm seriously looking at other security suites now.
