I am running Windows 7 with Norton Internet Security, and have a Sony Bravia connect to my home network via a wireless bridge. I cannot get the TV to recognize my computer as a DLNA server, even though I have streaming turned on. Please help.
There is more to it than just turning on streaming. Once you are set up, we will help you to fine tune Norton.

I have set up a Homegroup and shared media files, but when I go to the Control Panel / Network and Sharing Center / Choose Homegroup and Sharing Options / Choose Media Streaming Options, I don't see my Sony TV listed as a device on the local network, and my TV doesn't show any media servers available.

Hi Sean,
Acouple of questions. Have you rebooted with the TV connected and turned on? Also have you tried control panel > Devices and Printers > Add a device?
Dick,
Yes, I have rebooted with the TV turned on, and I have also tried to "Add a Device," but the TV isn't being detected by the computer.
Sean,
<< I have set up a Homegroup ... >>
Homegroup is something that Microsoft brought in, I think with Windows 7, and it is very fussy as to who can be on it -- I think it only recognizes other WIndows 7 installations which might explain why it does not see the Sony TV ?
I ignore the Homegroup offered during setup and set up my LAN using the old Workgroup especially since I have a mix of different versions of WIndows on computers.
So as a longshot it might be worth deleting the Homegroup everywhere and starting from scratch with the Windows Networking Wizard and tell it you want to set up your own LAN called Workgroup .....
Ignore this if someone has a simpler solution or if it won't help ....
