The Norton NIS icon was not in the bottom tool bar today and nor would it open from the short cut or program list.
I looked at the task manager and the norton security was there but at 0%.
I restarted to see if it would appear after a reboot but nothing.
I click on the short cut again and clicked open. After a long time, there was a error message - 8504 104 (had this previously)
I have already disabled the windows quick start because that previously caused errors on Norton.
This time I have uninstalled NIS and following the instructions I got it running updated a quick scan and live updated.
The instructions step 2 of the unistall and reinstall suggested I look up appwiz.cp1 to see if there was any other security package which I had to delete from the list.
I couldn't see anything so did not complete step 2 - is that alright ?
Also I did not remove Norton from the programs list - i just followed the uninstall instructions etc - Is that alright ?
Is there any idea why this keeps occurring ? It was working with a problem for that last 4 weeks and yesterday it was fine.
I have version 21.6.0.32
Finally during the reinstall - I had to delete a key to get a new key other wise I would have to pay.
I can not understand this when the problem is with Norton and I have to follow their instructions to reinstall.
Any assistance would be most useful
