NIS2006 Trusted Application List not updating

Because my operating system is W2000, I am restricted to staying with NIS2006.

For a very long time now, LiveUpdate has failed to update the Trusted Application List.

LiveUpdate runs automatically, however the problem also occurs when run manually.

The TAL update downloads ok, but then installing runs for a long time, eventually failing with the error message LU1801, update has failed, run live update again.

Have tried removing and re-installing NIS2006, also increasing disc working area to maximum, to no avail.

Any ideas, please?

Updating my os is not an option.
