I opened Outlook 2003 this morning and NIS kicked in and found a virus called Trojan Horse?? It said it was removed but whenever I clicked on anything 3, 4 or 5 instances opened up. This includes NIS and the Security window. I left the scan on all day while at work but it said nothing found but all these instancies kept poping up.
Anyway, I think it's sorted now. The downadup tool found nothing, MS defender and Malware Bytes were clear.
getting back to the point, I booted off the NIS CD but it couldn't update the definitions even though I am hard wired to an NTL/Virgin set top box (10MB broadband). I haven't got any CDs until tomorrow so not tried the downloadable ISO. How do I get it to update?
Also, I've read some posts that say boot into safe mode. NIS 2009 doesn't work in safe mode and it exits.
