I have NIS2009 installed. My subscription just expired. Since I am a penny-pincher I passed on the upgrade via the Symantec website and purchased a boxed version of NIS2010 with a bunch of rebates to cover the cost. I do this every year. The last few years I've used the Norton Removal Tool to completely uninstall the expired version prior to installing the new boxed version. Every year I have the same question. Do I need to do this?
I see that I can enter a new product key on the existing NIS2009 install. I think this will reactive NIS2009 and I think I can then upgrade to NIS2010 via the web. Is this correct and if so is this the best/easiet approach? Or is the uninstall/reinstall the best approach?
P.S. What is the best way to uninstall? 1) Norton Removal Tool; 2) All Programs>Norton Internet Securit>Uninstall Norton Internet Security; or 3) Control Panel Add/Remove Programs?
