New laptop. New NIS pre-installed on computer. Win 7, IE 9. After unresolved problems on my main pc, I purchased a new HP laptop so I could transfer all pc's data to it, before I reboot the pc's hard drive.
So here I am trying to set this laptop up and utilize the NIS. Activated the trial copy and tried to update. The first try got around 40 updates. I restarted the computer. Tried Live Update again. I ended up with a msg that it had failed. Tried again resulting again in failure.
I now know that I have to repeatedly run the Live Update, restart computer, etc. until I am told there are no more updates. But hey, I can't get this Norton product to do its job properly.
Ok guy/gal, just what is happening now? Until I get this laptop up and running properly with all protections, I can't wqrk on my main pc's problem, supposedly caused by my not knowing I had to do clean installs of purchased Norton products.
But thanks to someone else's posted problem, I now know to buy the Norton product (same as currently using) and just reactivate the old with the bought package's KEY. Exactly how to accomplish this proceedure I have not a clue, but I have 89 days left in which to find out.
So, someone please help me with these two problems.
