Once again interesting  - I seem to have missed the EN in that list - which is normally the first language offically released!

Oh and BTW - what is NIS and or NAV 2014 - I thought it was Version 21???

The downloaded version has a beta version number, see my post beta update? Guess Symantec making big world wide mistake offering an update and complete version as a new released final..

I would not have been quick to download it from the links posted but if you "Check for New Version" from version 20.4 it actually does download the version 21 setup.

The UI does not mention "beta" where the beta clearly had "beta" at the top of the main window.

I know and did that. but version 21.00.100 gets installed and that is a beta version athough thats not mentioned in the install but you can read that under beta releases NIS here on the forum

I dont think Symantec will release a final with the same version number as a Beta one. Just think its a big mistake

No way its a mistake, it clearly says "Norton 2014 Security Software" at the bottom of the NIS product page. The site looks different too.

And I have version 21.0.1.3, just updated it.

I just downloaded the TRIAL of NIS English and it is 21.0.1.3 and does not show BETA on main page. I opened my online vault and it really sucks. Need to find out how this new version works.

Hi Everyone I have been using nis v21.0.0.100 BETA and be aware that a lot of things have been moved in the program  and the new interface for the id vault witch still has a local vault choice but its not a new user friendly software update so be aware that the bugs are still not fixed in the last beta version #21.0.0.100 so if you want to use the new version  #21.0.1.3? Use caution

It is in fact out and legit. When I click on my NIS icon 20.4.0.40 "check for update". A new version is available. I will just wait though for it to come through the internal updater.

Hello,

I also get when I run a New Version Check thru Support that a product update is available.

Could someone from Symantec verify that this is version 21?

If not, what is it?

Thanks

Hi,

Not from Symantec, but i'm using Norton 360 v21.0.1.3 now.

Thanks Krusty13. I'll give it a whirl.

Regards.

Those of you who've downloaded it, can you let us know what you think ? The good, AND the bad ? I'd be interested to know what the community thinks before I take the plunge, THIS time around. :smileyhappy:

Well, my experience so far is MUCH better than my first two goes at v20 when it was first released.

I was surprised to see that I did not need to restart my W7 machines on installation.

I still have a Local ID Safe after upgrading, which is AWESOME!  Unfortunately you'll need to have one before you upgrade or you'll be stuck with Online only.

The new Vault GUI is different to previous years and will take a little time to get used to.

The GUI on N360 is a bit ugly - it's too light coloured for me, but it's not the GUI that protect us.

Overall I will say that I'm impressed and pleasantly surprised.

Cheers.

Hi Krusty, thanks for your observations. Sounds like Norton have done their homework, this time around. I'll update in a day or two, when I'm sitting comfortably with a cup of coffee, and Mrs F4E isn't hassling me !.....:smileywink:

Hi All

If you put Norton 360 ESD 21.0.0.100 and try to upgrade to Norton 360 TW 21.0.1.3
we get

Hello,

Oooooh, I feel the excitement mounting on the forum re the 'new' release, but I shall err on the side of caution and wait a bit because of last year's launch and subsequent on going teething problems, but from what I am reading so far, it does sound promising! It is always easy to jump right in at the beginning but if like me you hang fire just a bit, see what develops over the next few days or indeed weeks, then you won't regret waiting.

I am always grateful to the brave souls on these forums who try out the new releases and then give us their invaluable feedback. I shall be watching these threads very closely.

Have a great day everyone.

I downloaded an update onto one PC. Mostly no noticeable change but as said else where the vault is a mess. It has a terrible log on display that takes much longer to work your way through so you are back using the browser. Its not easy to use, logging off I found by when I hit the log of button in error. Why the stupid graphics in logging on, hopefully they will soon be dumped as soon as whoever had the nutty idea gets there brownie points for innovation and moves on. I could see little reason other than to have a change to have done these changes.

Even NRT (which by the way is not compatible yet with v21) calls this new version as 2014 as well developers: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360-Norton-Internet/NIS-V21-0-0-89-Using-86-92-CPU-utilization-during-Full-Scan/m-p/1007165/highlight/true#M1177
