No access to outlook mail

I am unable to access my outlook email account to update my messages on IOS5 iPAD with Norton VPN enabled. There is no error message, just a constant revolving searching symbol. Turning off VPN stops this. On my laptop there is an option to tell VPN to not block this traffic when enabled. Can you do this on IOS installation?

Can you confirm your iOS version? Norton only supports the current and two previous iOS versions. So currently this would be only iOS 16, 17, and 18.

Or are you referring to a 5th generation iPad? If so, what iOS version is on that device?

It sounds like you are asking about the Split Tunnel feature of a VPN. That is not available in the iOS versions of Norton VPN.

iPad IOS 18.3.1. Yes, I am looking for the split tunnel feature in order to protect my device whilst being able to access my outlook email. Why is this basic feature not available? This means I have to disable the VPN to access my email then enable it again once finished during which time I am denied the protection a VPN affords. Where is the value in this?

I do not know why Split Tunnel is not available in iOS devices. I am just a user like you.

What specific protections are you looking for from the VPN for your email?
Are you using Wifi or Cell data when accessing this email? If Wifi, is it public unsecured or your home properly secured network?

I am not looking to protect my email (using Wifi on home Virgin Media Broadband network). I am looking to be able to access my email whilst protected by my VPN on my iPad as I can on my laptop (using split tunnelling) with the same product. I did not think that would be a big ask. You make a product available on multiple media, you expect it to perform the same functionality (don’t you?)

Sometimes features are not added to an iOS product because they are not really required due to the protections already built into the OS. Such as sandboxing and isolating all running apps from interacting with each other.

I’m still interested to know what protection you are looking for in the VPN?
