No antispam optionn NIS

I have NIS versioin 18.6.0.29 and Outlook 2010.  I do not find any antispam options under settings-network settings in NIS.  Outlook does not have a Norton tab although Outlook indicates there is an active Norton antispam addin.  What do I need to do to get the antispam feature back in NIS?

Hi rkliever:

Welcome to the Norton Community!

I would just like to add that Norton Anti-Spam does not currently support SMTP SSL encrypted ports.

Only non-encrypted ports will work, like SMTP port 25 (sending mail) and port 110 for POP3 (downloading mail.)

For example, SSL Port 465 (Outgoing) and SSL Port 995 (incoming) will not work for NIS 2012 Anti-Spam.

You might see an Anti-Spam Folder but it will be non-functional and can be easily removed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I did install the 2012 version but I had problems and ended up uninstalling it.  I'd like to try and get the 2011 version to work.

Hi rkliever:

Follow PapauZ's instructions posted in  message # 2 of this thread but download the NIS 2011 v. 18.6.0.29 offline installer from www.norton.com/nis11 in step 2 of the instructions instead of the latest NIS 2012 installer.

Hi rkliever:

Happy New Year!

What happened when you tried to install NIS 2012? It should work.

Let us know and we will get you going with it and AntiSpam in Outlook,

as long as your email does not use SSL encrypted ports (as above.)
