No mapping between account names and security IDs was done

That error comes up when I tried to install Norton Ghost 15.0 from scratch, and also when I tried to repair the installation.  I also get a E1AD3212 error once I try to run the program.  I am running Windows 7.  Any ideas?

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum and Happy Thanksgiving!

What error message is printed other than the error code. Which version of Windows 7 do you have and 32 or 64 bit? Are you logged on as the Administrator or another account with Administrator rights? Is there any message regarding UAC when you try to run the installation?

Allen

Thanks for your quick response.  Windows 7, 32 bit.

"You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation"

It's not UAC, it's a error inside Ghost.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the update. Which user account are you logged on with, does it have Administrator rights?

Try to right click on the Ghost 15 installer and select Run as Administrator and let me know how that goes. Also, what Anti Virus utility do you have? You should disable this prior to attempting to install Ghost. For your own protection please disconnect yourself from the Internet during the time AV is disabled.

Thanks

Allen

Run as admin worked!  Thanks!

I am unable to install Ghost 15  on Win 7 32 or 64 bit machines. I run the installer as administrator. machines are not a part of any domain.

One machine was running NIS 2010 and the other run Panada 2010 .

Any more ideas?

thanks

In my case, I was running NIS 2010 so here is what i finally did to get Ghost 15 installd.

1. Disable NIS 2010 anti-virus and firewall protections.

2. Run install and administrator.

3. When I got this error message, I cancelled the install and and went back to the install location. I tried to install again and got the same error message.

4. Using Ctrl-Alt-Del (tassk manager) I found out that the installer was running twice so I stopped one of the instances and the Ghost 15 completed.

Thus endth my problems.
