There was a similar incident where I live.
Based on reliable resources, it was said Samsung is going to reduce its windows based laptop and netbook production as the expected unit sale target couldnt be achieved for last financial year.
It is being interpreted as Samsung is facing loss in laptop and netbook sector, so has completely stopped that product range.
Consulting Samsung employees or CS made the perfect example how announcements and news get turned over.
Now if I have to buy or repair Samsung laptops or netbooks, only authorised service centers and dealers are available!

.
So it is that, things get badly mis-interpreted very easily. And those will be hot news for long time.

Read the original quotes from Symantec at wsj:

There are a multitude of things happening at Symantec, so it does bear careful watching.  A company does not just fire two CEO's without causing a stirring in the market.

At a reported value of approximately 14 billion, it is not inconceivable that they could be looked at like a rabbit in a hyena pack.

“The company plans to hire its new CEO and fill other executive leadership positions”.(Cough, cough, Mr. Dye)

“The company's security strategy is shifting from prevention to an investment in detection and response capabilities, Brown said.

Former CEO Steve Bennett already began splitting apart the teams that sell the security and storage products before his ouster, making a breakup easier, according to Sterne Agee & Leach Inc.
